Side Steps and Running Boards make entering, exiting, and accessing the gear from your lifted truck or SUV a breeze! Your vehicle doesn’t need a monster lift to benefit from truck steps. On the contrary, slight modifications like leveling kits and oversized tires can add several inches to ride height. Truck side steps counteract the elevated height by lowering the entry point into your vehicle’s cab or bed, making onboarding easy and painless.
Adding side steps or running boards is an affordable, yet stylish way to improve the looks of your vehicle and make accessibility effortless for yourself, your passengers, kids, or those with mobility limitations. As a bonus, they can also help protect your side panels and doors from rocks and road debris that kick up from your tires.
From Nerf Bars and Steps to Electric Running Boards and Retractable Bed Steps, we can help you find the right solution for your onboarding needs. Available in assorted sizes, styles, and finishes; our team can help you find the right boost for your ride. Rest assured, our installations are always spot-on! You can be confident that the fit will be just right.
Running Boards are wide, flat steps that offer a large, non-slip tread for easy onboarding into your vehicle's cab. They can also provide a rocker protection against abrasions from minor impacts and road debris.
Electric, retractable running boards are more expensive than fixed-position running boards but offer a seamless appearance.
They stay tucked in flush against the truck body until the doors open, at which time they lower electronically for entering or exiting the vehicle.
Hoop and drop steps incorporate a main tube tucked tightly against the rocker panel with strategically placed drop steps at each door. If you're seeking a stylish yet functional step, hoop or drop steps may be the answer.
Hoop steps are also available without the main tube running the length of the cab. Instead of mounting to a structural tube, they mount directly to your vehicle’s rocker panels for a sleek, minimalist design.
Nerf and tube bars feature a classic tubular design that runs either the length of the cab or from wheel to wheel. Most feature oval or round tube construction and include molded or composite step pads for exceptional grip, regardless of weather conditions.
Rock Sliders bolt tightly to the vehicle’s body or frame and are designed for protection, with accessibility and aesthetics generally being secondary priorities. These step mounts provide maximum protection to the sheet metal against trail impacts and abrasions, making them perfect for off-roading. Sliders are specifically designed for off-road vehicles so they will not be available for all makes and models.
Bed Steps come in retractable or fixed-position designs. They can be mounted to the front bedside or next to the rear bumper and offer easy access to the pickup’s bed and gear.
Side steps come in fixed and retractable designs. Fixed steps are meant to be seen and come in a variety of finishes.
Retractable steps are hidden away when not in use and deploy from below the rockers with the door open and retract behind the rockers when the door is closed.
Cab-length steps and Wheel-to-Wheel side steps are the most popular fitments. Cab-length steps stretch the entire length of the cab, offering maximum accessibility from any position.
Wheel-to-wheel steps extend from behind the front tire to just before the rear tire. Most will have pads at the doors and bedside for access points. They allow for easy access to the truck bed without having to climb in.
Side steps can be mounted with a Frame mount or a Rocker mount. Frame-mounted steps are affixed to the pickup truck’s steel frame, making them sturdy and impact-resistant. They are the best option for off-road trucks.
Rocker-mount steps mount to the truck’s rocker panels. They are sturdy enough for daily street use, but we do not recommend them for trucks that go off-road.
Nearly all side steps are made of metallic construction: Carbon steel, stainless steel, or aluminum.
Finishes will determine the step’s appearance and corrosion resistance. Depending on the steps you choose, they will generally be offered with powder-coated, painted, polished, or chrome-plated finishes.
