Paint Protection Film is an expertly applied, thin and virtually invisible urethane paint protector that safeguards your vehicle's paint from damage caused by rocks, gravel, insects, bird droppings, salt and other corrosive elements.
You sure can! Any smooth, painted surface can be covered with PPF.
You can use any standard car wash soap or detail spray to clean the film, provided that the product does not contain more than 5% Naphtha or Kerosene.
Yep! But you need to wait at least 48 hours after the installation to allow the film to dry completely.
Yes. Just make sure that you've waited at least 48 hours after the installation to allow the film to dry and avoid spraying the high-pressure water directly on the edges of the film.
While you can wax the film, it's critical that the product you're using doesn't contain Naphtha or Kerosene in concentrations greater than 5%; and avoid waxes that contain dyes. We carry products that are specifically formulated for use with polyurethane Paint Protection Films to provide the maximum protection and gloss without causing discoloration.
Warranty periods vary by the product you choose, but all of our films carry a warranty that covers: yellowing, staining, delamination, cracking, peeling, bubbling and more. We'll cover warranties with you in more detail.
You can! The process is the same as with regular paint. Just wet the surface with a lubricant, such as soapy water, and then gently rub the surface with the clay bar. For hard water stains, bird droppings or sap, use Simple Green as the lubricant for the detailing clay.
No. There really isn't much maintenance needed for most of our film products. The film can last longer and be easier to clean by treating it twice a year to a Paint Protection Film Sealant.
Yes, but the finish will look slightly different than unprotected chrome. We can apply a small swatch to the desired surface so that you can see what it looks like before making a decision.
PPF can be applied over vinyl wraps and graphics, but if there are any hard edges (such as with racing stripes), it could result in some air being trapped along the edges.
We offer some films that can be installed over headlights and fog lights.
Yes. PPF can be applied to watercraft.
It's highly unlikely, but we recommend having it professionally removed.
The self-healing clearcoat films are designed to repair themselves from swirl marks and light scratches. However, if a piece of debris has penetrated through the clearcoat, it will not self-heal. In this case, you'll want to have the piece of film replaced.
Waxes, sealants and protectants (including ceramic coatings) are generally designed to reduce the surface energy of the paint, making them easier to clean. The reduced surface energy can decrease the film's ability to adhere properly, so we typically recommend applying these products after installation of the film.
Indeed, they can! There are several reasons why applying Ceramic Coating over PPF is recommended:
Ceramic Coatings are hydrophobic, so they stay clean longer because water slides off the surface. This also makes it easier to clean debris and contaminants from the vehicle.
Adds another layer of UV protection to minimize any 'yellowing' that may occur.
Reduces the process of permanent marking that can be caused by regular exposure to caustic substances, such as bird droppings.
Adds a unique gloss to the PPF that cannot be accomplished otherwise and protects the PPF to help it look its best longer.
Moisture is a key component of the Paint Protection Film installation procedure and can occasionally lend itself to small air or water bubbles under the film. If these bubbles are noticeable after the installation, it’s normal. The trapped moisture will evaporate in a few days and these bubbles will disappear without intervention. A re-check of your vehicle will be requested after 2-3 weeks to ensure that the film is performing as its supposed to.
